The process of facilitating a transfer is relatively straightforward. Subsequent to agreement upon staffing levels and the needs of the patient, a team is dispatched to the holding facility. The escorts will be in a casual uniform consisting of a blue top with black trousers, as this does not come across as confrontational to the patient.

.................................................................................

This was introduced after consultation with of one of our clients. Upon arrival, the escorting staff will be briefed by the customer's representative and the nurse will spend time engaging with the patient to ensure the smooth transition of care.

Loading and unloading of the patient will be addressed on an individual basis, with regard for the needs of the patient and the collection or delivery facilities requirements.

During the journey, the nurse will lead all interactions and interventions with the patient, and be responsible for the safe transfer of Section Papers. Whilst all staff are trained in Control & Restraint techniques, they will be used as a last resort, and always under the instruction of the nurse. On completion of the transfer, all relevant documentation and a full handover will be given to the receiving authority before departing on the return journey.

Upon return, Rapid and Secure staff will complete a full nursing report and breakdown of incidents and interventions, which will be forwarded to the customer for inclusion in the patient's notes, and retained by Rapid & Secure for utilization in the company quality assurance review process.

Both formal and informal transfers can be undertaken. Local/Overseas moves are also undertaken. Any distance at any time.
