The detention and transportation of any person/patient suffering from MH illness can be a traumatic event not only for the patient/client but also for the relatives and friends, the commissioning unit or authorities involved in organising the move. The patients/clients and staff safety are of the utmost importance and the logistics can be difficult irrelevant of the transfer being a local move within the UK or an overseas move or repatriation.
